What Is Internal Medicine?
It is a question that we often here: what exactly is internal medicine? The truth is that most physician’s deal with problems that occur internally. What makes Internal Medicine Physicians, or Internists as we often are called, different is partially that we specialize in adults and also that we combine our practice with a great deal of lab work. Internists are also referred to as the “doctor’s doctor,” because we are often called upon to act as consultants to other physicians to help solve puzzling diagnostic problems.
Many adults choose to use us as their general practitioner in Reno because we are equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient brings–no matter how common or rare, or how simple or complex. As Internists, we are specially trained to solve puzzling diagnostic problems and can handle severe chronic illnesses and situations where several different illnesses may strike in stereo.
This all basically means that we are both general practitioners and specialists at the same time. Our office accepts new clients for a broad spectrum of health reasons. Some of our new clients have come to us after being diagnosed with a serious illness and have been in need of a specialist. Others come to us looking for a general practitioner with the capability of handling any advanced situation that may occur in the future. Either way, our office is well equipped and willing to help these patients.
When a patient does make the decision to select us as their primary care physician in Reno, our approach is generally the same; we want our patients to feel like family. We have created a warm and friendly atmosphere that helps put our patients at ease and assure them that we are here to attend to their needs. The Center for Health is dedicated to providing the highest level of care for out-patients and we believe that this atmosphere is facilitative of healing. If you are dealing with a serious illness, or you’re simply looking for a new general practitioner in Reno, the Center for Health would like to become your primary care physician.
